Care & Safety

PLEASE READ ALL CANDLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED AND ADHERE TO THE WARNING LABEL AND INSTRUCTIONS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE HAZARD OR INJURY.

  • Remove scent sticker off the wax before lighting the candle.
  • Always hold the candle from the base and not the wax.
  • Ensure the candle is placed on a flat, stable surface.
  • Pillar candles, there are risks of the wax leaking onto the surface in which the candle is on.
  • Trim the wick roughly 10mm for optimal candle performance. Burning a tall wick will cause uneven burn, mushroom and leakage.
  • Do not to trim the wick too short as it be at risk of being engulfed by wax.
  • For the initial light, allow the wax pool reach at least 10mm from the rim (or as far as possible) then extinguish.  Repeat this for every burn allowing up to 4 hours available to maximise burn time.
  • Never leave candle to burn while attended.
  • Do not burn a candle all the way down. Closely monitor burn when metal wick holder is visible. Stop the burn when flame reaches the metal wick holder.
  • These pillar candles are designed to hold the wax within the candle. When you first light your pillar candle, let the pool wax reach within 7mm of the outside edge, then extinguish. Continue to do this step every time you burn the candle. This will also help the candle to not ‘tunnel’ where it burns hollow, or leaves a thick, unused mantle or rim.
  • Never place your candle near or next to anything flammable or anything that can catch fire.
  • Prevent candles from fading, cracking and melting by candles are sensitive to temperature and light, by storing your candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, dust and fluorescent light.
  • Store your candles in an upright position.
  • Ensure the wax pool is free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
  • Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room. Do not burn too many candles in a small room.
  • Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. The candle isn’t burning properly. Cool, trim the wick, then check for drafts before relighting.
  • If you notice your candle wick leaning to one side, it could be that the wick is too long, causing a large, flickering and unstable flame. Extinguish the flame, let the candle cool, trim the wick down to roughly 10mm and relight. If the wick is leaning to one side it may cause the candle to burn off centre, which may cause wax to leak over the side.
